As I mentioned last week, I recently embarked on a high protein diet. This includes the Shaklee Cinch(TM) shake powder used in drinks once, but usually twice, a day. The shakes don't taste too bad on their own but recently the chef in me has come out to play with these to avoid boredom. The following shake recipes can be used with chocolate flavored protein powder, but I'd venture to guess they'd be just as delicious with vanilla! If you're watching calories/fat make sure you add the "extras" into your daily counts as the small amounts will start to add up. Also I don't know how you make your protein shakes, but mine call for 1 C non fat milk. Hopefully you will find these recipes useful no matter what protein powder you choose, and amend them appropriately!
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shake
1 serving chocolate protein shake powder
1 C nonfat milk
4-5 frozen strawberries (not in syrup)
1 tsp chocolate syrup
Chocolate Banana Shake
1 serving chocolate protein shake powder
1 C nonfat milk
1/4 cup water
3-4 ice cubes
1 medium banana, peeled and cut into chunks
Mocha Java Shake
1 serving chocolate protein shake powder
1 C nonfat milk
1 C strong brewed coffee, black (can be substituted with 2 tsp instant coffee powder or even espresso)
4-5 ice cubes
Peanut Butter Cup
1 serving chocolate protein shake powder
1 C nonfat milk
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
